Profiles

The new profiling system adds a robust system for managing a small law office. Multiple profiles can be created, each with separate headers and footers, lawyer information, docket/disbursement/time/ and certification types. Each profile will also contain separate clients, dockets, and entries. These profiles may be moved between, for instance in the case of a law clerk working for two lawyers. The next version will add password protection options to profiles, as well as allowing information to be copied/moved between profiles.

OCL Legal Agent Form

We've added a form aimed directly at lawyers who work with the Canadian Office of the Children's lawyer. This form was modeled upon the form provided by the OCL in Ontario. This form populates virtually all data from a normal docket in your database. Some fields must be filled in manually, and a box will appear when the form is generated to populate these fields. This form is provided at no extra cost and will be updated as new versions become available.

New and Improved Forms, User Reports

All forms have been completely re-designed. These new forms are more visually appealing, as well as organize information in the most concise and organized manual possible. A new option has also been added called user reports. User reports allow us to create new reports and provide them for download online. These reports can then be loaded and used immediately in the program, with no need for a program update. Many of these forms will be available at no additional cost, and some may have a small fee.

Login Box and Role System

The login box has been redesigned for simplicity and functionality. Connecting to a local or remote database now only requires the user to click a single radio button and in the case of a network connection, add an IP address. The new login box also contains a role selection box. Users must now assume a role when connecting to SoftDocket. This role allows access to certain parts of the database, as defined by the system administrator. Several roles have been provided, but more can be created using the new roles panel. This panel allows simple creation, modification and deletion of roles. Roles can be assigned to a user via a simple drag and drop interface by dragging a user from the user box and dropping it on a role name in the roles box.
